ZipScreen Singapore
for Your Balcony

A track-guided outdoor screen that brings greater shade, privacy and comfort to the spaces just beyond your doors.

A More Sheltered Space, Still Open to the Outdoors

A balcony can become one of the most useful parts of a home when the afternoon sun, glare and passing rain are better managed.

ZipScreen is a made-to-measure outdoor screen with fabric edges secured inside aluminium side channels. Unlike a conventional outdoor blind that is held mainly by its bottom bar and guides, the zip-guided system supports the fabric along both sides for a neater, more stable finish.

It helps reduce harsh sunlight, heat, glare, wind and rain splash while adding daytime privacy. When raised, the balcony remains open; when lowered, it becomes a more sheltered place for dining, resting or everyday family use.

Three Ways to Make It Part of Your Day

How you operate your ZipScreen matters, especially when the opening is wide, frequently used or difficult to reach. Choose from Spring Boosted, Crank or Motorised operation according to the opening and how you use the space.

Spring Boosted

A spring-assisted manual system that can be raised or lowered by hand. It requires no electrical connection and can be held at different heights. A practical choice for accessible openings where simple manual operation is preferred.

Crank System

A gear-driven system operated with a detachable hand crank. Turning the crank gives you steady control over the screen and lets you stop it at the required height. Suitable when controlled manual operation is preferred without adding a motor.

Motorised ZipScreen with remote control for a Singapore balcony by Cornerstone

Motorised System

Operated by remote control, with the motor housed discreetly inside the roller tube. It is especially useful for wider, higher or frequently used openings. A suitable electrical provision is normally required.

Sealed at the Sides

Zip-guided tracks keep the fabric taut against wind, unlike a loose hanging blind.

Aluminium Accessories

Aluminium components that resist rust and suit Singapore’s humid outdoor conditions.

Questions About ZipScreen?

ZipScreen is a made-to-measure outdoor screen system with zipped fabric edges guided inside aluminium side channels. The tracks help keep the fabric aligned and more stable than a conventional loose-hanging outdoor blind.

No. ZipScreen™ and Ziptrak® are separate Australian outdoor-screen brands. Both use track-guided systems to secure the screen along its sides, but their components, operating mechanisms and product specifications are different.

ZipScreen uses a zipped fabric edge secured within its z-LOCK™ side channels and is available in Spring Boosted, Crank and Motorised systems. Ziptrak uses its own track-guided spline system and offers manual spring-balanced and motorised options.

ZipScreen is available with Spring Boosted, Crank and Motorised operation. The suitable system depends on the opening size, access, fixing conditions and how frequently the screen will be used.

A motorised system normally requires a suitable electrical provision near the installation area. The exact power and control requirements depend on the selected motor and should be confirmed before installation.

ZipScreen helps reduce rain and rain splash, but it should not be treated as a completely waterproof or airtight enclosure. Some water may still enter during heavy, wind-driven rain or through gaps caused by the floor and surrounding structure.

The zip-guided side channels help keep the fabric more stable in wind than a conventional outdoor blind. Performance depends on the screen size, fixing surface, installation and actual weather conditions. The manufacturer recommends retracting the screen when winds exceed 50 km/h.

It may be suitable, subject to the opening, fixing structure and applicable estate requirements. Condo owners should check with their MCST. HDB owners should check the relevant HDB or Town Council requirements before installation. We cannot confirm that every estate permits the same installation.

Privacy depends on fabric openness and the direction of light. A screen may provide good daytime privacy when it is brighter outside. At night, people outside may be able to see in when the balcony or interior is more brightly lit.

The product catalogue indicates sizes of up to approximately 4 metres wide and 3.5 metres in drop. The permissible width and drop must be considered together, and final suitability depends on the selected system, fabric and site conditions.

Do not leave wet fabric rolled inside the pelmet, as trapped moisture may encourage mould or mildew. Allow the screen to dry before retracting it fully whenever weather conditions permit.

Spring Boosted, Crank and Motorised systems can be positioned at different heights when correctly operated and configured.

Some openings can be covered with a single panel, subject to the supported size combination. Extra-wide balconies may require two or more panels for safe, stable operation.
